Haggis
Click links that you dont know where they lead Hey Guys I thought i would post this, hopefully some of you will find it helpful Through fixing pc's etc and people coming to me for general computer help i hear and see a lot of pc's with Viruses and Malware that have been picked up by a not so techie user blindly clicking on a link when they do not know where it goes for example a service that i beleive twitter utilises called TinyURL While TinyURL can be a very handy thing to use it can also be used in a bad way you cant see where that link is going to send you unless you have the Preveiw option already on you pc Example You receive an email that says Hi You have won a test drive in a new (enter random car here) Please click this link to register your win http:// tinyurl .com/ cwlsmj Now you cant see where that link is actually going to, it could lead to a legitimate site where you can claim your win, it also could lead to a site which will install a virus and turn you computer into a bot. If you go to the TinyURL Site (http://www.tinyurl.com) you can click on the preview menu link and enable them or you can click this link (requires cookies to be enabled) http://tinyurl.com/preview.php?enable=1 I hope this helps some of you out and maybe educates some a bit Cheers Any questions just let me know

takaharu_
That doesn't really work well coming from a person you already know. The chances of a long-time member of TG posting a hazardous site without it being deleted...?
Guest X-Fusion
I've removed the link in the original post, spread the address out in the post in the other article and merged the two topics together. It was a nice concept, however, it needed to be edited.
