  1. You could have a look around at http://www.koach.com/ if you didn't already tried that one. The thing I picture myself here is that you fill your room with clones so it looks more busy and thus makes more people want to join to see if theres something going on in there? These sort of tactics always backfire is my experience
  2. It was definately fun on the reunion, I spoke to people from ages ago. shame I missed the God discussion. What is ms silverlight? an O/S?
  3. Oh you are right, now I remember! you can't send more lines unless you use some weird unicode thingy. I remember some people used it to make asci art, don't we have that around here on TG?
  4. Did you get that string out of the console window? Try to use debug.print and you can see in your console window when debugging (put a line breakpoint in front of your code for example) if it shows a linefeed before the data is going to the encode/decode parsing.
  5. dim EndOfLine as string EndOfLine = chr(13) & chr(10) ' = \n 'if you want to print something like 'Hello\nWorld debug.print "Hello" & EndOfLine & "World" have you tried that?

    Zip

I had Alzip once too, its free isnt it? but it did weird things on my pc like creating folders with weird names all the time. I use winrar, great program, but not free.
  7. I like buzzen, but I never chat, so I dont have real chat experience with them.
  8. is it really called nicklust ? thats sounds sexy
  9. lmao "THE CHAT THAT WE DARE NOT SPEAK IT'S NAME" "THE CHAT THAT WE DARE NOT SPEAK IT'S NAME" "THE CHAT THAT WE DARE NOT SPEAK IT'S NAME"
  10. I dont know about anybody else but for me it doesnt work that way, if I look at a roomlist and I see 10 rooms with only 3 people in it and I see a room with 50 then I will try the busy room, numbers do attract imo because if everyone is in that busy room it must be fun to be in. You need active hosts to keep people around for chatting, you need the hosts to talk in the room and not whisper all the time or idle 24/7. I mean who's going to chat just for idling? yes to keep open a room if you are a room owner, but visitors dont come to idle, they come to chat and if the room is dead they move on, logical to me.
  11. Yes offcource, atleast if I would really go for the chatting, I will look up a busy room where I have the biggest chance of a good convo or meeting an interesting chatter.. its not like I go into a dead room and try to make it alive.
  12. I'm not really a chatter anymore but I think you are right, in my chat days I would check out the busiest rooms on the chatlist, or atleast the rooms where you had something to read. Who really cares about all that clone stuff if you just want to chat. Something other that resents me is having to install active x controls that are untrusted or unsigned or uncertified etc.. its a security risk no matter how much you trust the makers, a programmer can make a mistake and replace some windows controls on my pc with a wrong version and some components of my O/S could be messed up.. no bad intensions from the makers offcource but it has happened to me in the past.
  13. Illegal, he had the patched ocx included with his script in some of his downloads. Not that Techgear ever directly hosted the patched ocx so we had vincula without the pacthed ocx if I'm correct. But it still needed something illegal to connect.
  14. I went in the expressobar, was that Viperbots trivia runnig? or were it just the same questions
  15. I stopped reading at point 20 when I scrolled down and saw it were a hundred or something. It would make the ferment chatters a bit depressed reading all that about themselves I think.
  16. I personally think not more interested in script but more interested in new hype's. I think the chat hype is a bit past and it is more blogging and myspace activities now.. and offcource messenger. If I look at myself as example, I used to chat but I never do anymore now. Its because of a change in my life situation, in the time I was with my ex I was in desparate need for some normal social contact I wasnt allowed to have in real life from him, but these days I think chatting is more a waiste of time.. I like forums though!
  17. Somehow I think your story is inconsistent, first you say you have no time and energy to start a new site And then you say after you took over the group you have (created?) a new group? So whats left of your original excuse?
  18. omg what a terrible story! but from what I understand it was initially just about a chatroom and not remaking a complete site, how hard is it just to open up another room? you dont want to know how many times xt room was split haha even sysops were chartered (kids misbehave in helpdesk while beeing in xt room to get it closed) Anyways, its unhealthy to put your heart and soul in a digital virtual room like that, keep seeing things in perspective.. and maybe now you are able to.
  19. its verry hard hearing only one side of the story, I would want to hear both. I'm sure ozzy would never dump err0r without any reason
  20. http://www.sparkpea.net/index.php I think this is another clone
  21. I didnt want to scare you away but it was really like something was bothering you so I guess I was wrong. I dont think you should leave.
