I miss MSN Chat and especially groups chat. I had finially gotten alot of what I was taught about scripting in the bag and my group room filled with help topics, trivia, word frenzy and protections "I" actually wrote. Most of my freinds went to Buzzen. I went to VSIXC. I was wrong! If I ever find the time to script again and want to have a "chat" life again. I will go to Buzzen or flat out do IRC Chat. I am tired of headaches. For me personally, MSN was easy as shit to script for. And you didn't have 'ops' "bending" you from rooms. Want to know what "bending" is? Google it. If you have the time to look all the rules up, you will officially hate ALL ALL ALL chat servers! W/E! I digress! I just do NOT support what I used too. Being slapped in the face a few times will make you think again. If you want a stable chat with actual people in room, use Buzzen! If you want a 'chat cause I'm bored' use Buzzen or Sparkpea.

OYE! Most people whjo have not went through classes or what not to learn how to script or more to the point of this thred 'code for the mIRC chat client' use other codes to learn from. People often use a script and want somethng more or something different, so they want to learn to code for themselves. Some of the people here are more then willing to help n00bs go in the right directions. From what I have read, everyone ehre has gotten help from others or used anothers coding to learn from. I do agree that if you use others ideas and expand them you should get permission, and if the author wishes give them proper credit. The flip side is that if you release, you make it fair game for people to either steal or use or learn from. If you do not want people to have your code then don't release! I do not feel Travis would rip or steal from anyone. He, Gwen, and X-Fusion have spent a few hours here and there trying to help me out. Even with codes we knew would not work, but we gave it our best shot. Those who accuse others of being bandits usually wear a mask themselves. Travis, don't let jack-asses bring ya down bro. Just do what you do and let them be jelous! As for the coding structure, I have to agree with X-Fusion 100%. Moschino is nothing more then a re-worked Vincula connection. Can anyone say slight of hand?

They need a Black 2, a far better Need For Spped then that lame ashhes Pro Street, New Mortal Kombat game, and maybe bring back Road Rash.

I have been warned by many to always avoid any 'loop' commands. The script may not be able to keep up of the computer is older and maybe slow. The script will try and read, and not kep up and the actual PC will crash. Again this is just an 'opinion' ans subject to bashing. ( though it can be "Googled" ).

A simple search for rintone samples would get you a ton of sounds from a reg phone to little dance biddies. Even some voice overs. I used one in my last script for the join tune that sang welcome to the jungle by GnR. LOL Glad you got it Lynx. TC Dude!

I agree with 007. Also, wth is with the font size? Like Travis and Deanne stated. Try VSIXc with the SDK pack. Or you can always just register a room on VSIXc and pass protect it. Were you looking for someone to help you make a chatroom with the MSN OCX?

Room Info is one thing. What you want are IP's and ID's of users in rooms/channels you don't own.. I am for the most part an intermediate scripter. If I can see what it is you are trying to get, the top dogs in here will too. Why do you need IP's from a room you are not a mod/owner/host in? If I was in room d, why do you need to know who I am, where I have been and my IP ? Getting room stats in one thing. Getting peoples IP's or ISP's from a room you are not even staff at is inconceivable, and those codes should not be posted in any forum! For the record, YES! Accessing peoples PRIVATE information IS illegal unless you actually OWN the server AND the network! Even then to process and use that information for personal gain is prohibited! Personal gain in this case is that "General just wants to know." You have asked for codes in the past to get this same information, and the topic was locked. I am not sure why this one got so far. Maybe because you worded it a bit different, and changed the purpose. Maybe you should read your OWN starter topic!

What I mean is that you seem to want to gain information about users, you should not have from those users. I can see monitoring your own room/channel. But this is stalking! You are pushing the limits of the Invasion of Privacy Act. It is NOT that I do not understand. I get what you are trying to do do very well! It's that I do not agree with what you are trying to do!! A very simple kick/ban for people not on your list should suffice. You want to gain acess to peoples private information. That is just wrong! And illegal !!

Rubbish? Pfft. I was bored last night and decided to pop by a freinds room on Buzzen. It was empty as usual. So I want to one of the Espresso bars. I asked whay the new version looked the same as the old one and was told the new was down, and that it was down more then up. THAT was from users in Buzzen. I was also not trying to bash you, as i do realise it takes hard work and time to get this stuff right. I was making an observation based on what I saw. Sorry if I tinkled in your cheerios.

I think the next big thing isn't fruit. It's not ajax ( though ajax does get a bathroom really clean ). It's...The Big Thing. I think the big thing needs to be smaller. There are always Big Things claiming to be bigger. So that means that the last Big Thing takes a backseat. Speaking of which, backseats need to be....BIGGER! Congrats on the sucess of the channel! Hope you get visitors and get to keep it open...

HA! MSN Chat Staff were just a bunch of scripters..j/k! The only question I ever really wanted to know was if the Sysops in MSN ever just popped in peoples group chats. I only ask because there were a few times that someone would come into the room, and no one would know who they were. They would leave just like they entered, quietly. <~shruggs~> Not that it matters anymore. My thought was always a scripter that had managed to gain acess to my rooms via some form of theft. I never bothered reporting it because there was never any harm done. Just a room with a few people asking "WTH was that?!"...LOL

It's rancid..LOL... I wouldn't write a script for it even it was compatible. There's not much to it at all. If I am going to waste my time, I would rather do it by shoving bamboo under my fingernails..

Free forum hosting. It's not really that bad for a free site. The customization is sic. I did some research on the chat, and it's a java alpet and it stinks. LOL

LOL. OK. I know alot of people don't like Proboards, but they have a chat system now thats incorperated right in the message boards. I am doing some research on it. If it's a descent chat applet, and mIRC will work on it, I may just have some solutions for people you and I that don't want alot of mess, just a place for our friends to be able to chat, post and keep in touch with one another. EDIT! Nevermind. The chat is a simple java aplet and a pretty lame one at that.

Does anyone here know if the chat that Proboards uses is mIRC compatible? I have asked a few people there and the response I get is usually, "I don't know." or "What is mIRC?". If it is, we might have a new stage to dance on.

LOL Yep, they are my words...I see the point you are making, and yeah there are those lurkers that just roam from room to room not saying a word. I can understand your frustration as well. What I am trying to convey is that not all of the people that come in a room and say nothing are just trying to spy or irritate owners or members. They may be porn bot runners that are scoping your room for potential 'clients', but, they may also just be new comers. Do any of the regs to your room say hi to the silent ones? If so do they get a reply? Try using a bot/script detector to see if maybe the peepers are bots. I just don't think banning is the most effective way to detour this from happening. What we need is for a server to allow a group like set up. Where you have the chat room and a palce for members to post messages. This way, you can make it a members only room. I know this can be done with passwords. Now that I am thinking about it, there's your solution. You could set up your room to be either invite only or password acess only.

Lynx bro, you may want to reconsider banning as a means to keep people out. If you have an open chat room and ban people for coming in, I do believe that's a violation of many chat nets TOS and COC. Like was mentioned earlier in this thread, people are curious, and maybe they want to pop in and see things. Many first time chatters are weary and shy, and may not know what or how to interact yet. Banning is really not how you want a n00b to remember your room...

If this works, then go with it.
