Mirc 7.15 Released

Dear mIRC User,

 

mIRC v7.15 has been released today.

 

This is a small update that addresses a number of important issues that have been reported by users since the last release. It includes improvements, changes and fixes to a number of features, including:

 

The editbox in the active window now correctly receives the focus when mIRC is restored from a minimized state.

File dialogs now correctly return file extensions when "Hide file extensions" is enabled in Explorer in Windows 7.

The switchbar now displays scrollbar buttons, when needed, to scroll through the list of open windows.

The hash table commands hadd/hinc/hdec should now work more like their set/inc/dec counterparts when using the -cuNz switches.

The socket command /sockwrite now sends data immediately which should speed up transfers.

Other changes and bug fixes

 

This update builds on and improves the stability of the new Unicode version of mIRC (see the previous v7.1 release announcement for details).

 

How to upgrade?

As you know mIRC is distributed in a self-extracting cabinet (mirc715.exe) that helps you to install mIRC on your PC. Simply download the cabinet and run the installer. Follow the instructions the installer program gives to you. When upgrading all your old settings and scripts will stay as they were, if you want that. Read the questions the installer program asks with care and nothing can go wrong. You will be chatting with the new mIRC in no time. If you get stuck or if you want to find out more about a certain feature, just click on a Help button or browse the Help file and you should find lots of hints to help you out. We also give some information on changed, improved and fixed features and functions below.

 

Where to download?

For the latest download addresses look on the download page on the mIRC websites.

 

Shareware.

As you might know mIRC is shareware. It can be downloaded freely and evaluated for 30 days. Assuming you find that you enjoy using mIRC, and you continue to use it, you have to register your copy. This licenses you to keep your copy of mIRC and it supports our continued work on mIRC. Khaled offers a one time registration, which works with all future versions of mIRC. You will never need to register again.
