takaharu_ Posted June 7, 2009 Report Share Posted June 7, 2009 Yep, sleep is "standby". S3 sleep works as you've seen. Earlier versions of sleep just put your PC in a low-power mode and "turn off" your monitor, without looking like your PC's actually off. The disbenefit is that if your PC looses power whilst on standby it will loose your session. This doesn't apply to hibernate, which takes longer to resume your session.
