The Hybrid I use doesn't auto host anyone unless they are added to access. Depending on the hybrid you use ( I use the Soulfly one) you can add people to the various levels so that if they need to host up on emergency they use one of the host commands to do so without actually having to carry a hammer the entire time. Actually..that's about the only reason why I still choose hybrid..cause of the ability it gives you to not have everyone enter as a host. Oh..and reason why I'm saying what Trav already said ( almost the same) is cause I know I never disabled anything in Hybrid ( you know me..it's complex lol) so the 'non auto handing out hammers' is prolly there by default.

The opening post ended with a question...a WHY one. We simply reply to that with our own because's. Ya can't (well I can't so next time plz add a 'not for iLia to reply notice) state why I miss sth without being nostalgic. Jeez..you are so difficult at times.....

I miss being able to chat in one place with almost everyone I know. Now I have to go to at least 3 networks to see ppl I enjoy chatting to. It's (msn closing) ruined my reg room(s) , ruined the comms I was in. And if I feel that way after only chatting in MSN for 2 yrs before it closed..I imagine what ppl who used it for 5-6 yrs feel like. I don't think chat has died..but chatters are so widely spread that no network can ever be popular or busy enough (or offer as much variety). When you couldn't chat in MSN..ya just couldn't chat ( for most of us). Now..if Buzzen is down..you chat in Phreik..or Sparkpea or wherever. So..you actually move a lot....making friends BUT you miss that whole 'WE are all HERE' thing. However.......maybe chat is dying..and why? It's not as accessible as it was. When I started using the PC..I didn't care about chat. But ..it was only a click away. I didn't have to go google for chat networks..compare and contrast them. These days..people who enter the world of chat are fewer I think.

Depends Lynx..if you are chatting in Buzzen it's the same really lol. I haven't tried any other sites..at least not any pay ones. I wouldn't pay for chat..I find it silly.

Some charge for services..maybe they should start hiring for a change? Way I see it..you cannot claim to offer 24/7 support AND charge for it if you are not damn sure you can offer at least that. If volunteer work is not enough ( and seeing the number of complaints, it is not) maybe some of those $$$ should go towards better support.

I asked if all those are listed here because I haven't heard of some (like TA and Shateros) at all! And seeing I do live such a sheltered chat life..I'm surprised lol. Anyways....I haven't voted. As much as I love VSIXc and want to see it grow.......it doesn't offer as many rooms as the others do....so it's a bit too quiet at times. Buzzen is busy...but with all the moofs and bugz..it gets a bit frustrating (not to mention fact it is NOT as popular these days as it was). Phreik I go to at times to say hello to some friends who moved there from Buzz. WCN..well I refuse to join a network that demands I join in order to just browse it. I used to go to Oasiz before that time they got closed down..not been back since. I'm not sure asking for other people's opinions will help the person who started this to choose. Best try them all and see which one suits your needs.

Pony.....kicks can be quite silly at times...you can't pre-add most stuff. I was thinking more along the lines of an input bar , sth more like what MSN had where we could type our own messages. It is however very handy ( the way it is now) for most hosts who do not use a script to kick. I'd say it was much needed. Thx

No pop up box...all kicks so far (apart from staff kicks) were blank..no reason. The only way to add a message to your kick/ban was what pony said earlier. However....pony's kicks/bans are exactly like the staff kicks ie Violating the code of Conduct is not something I'd use often in a UCR. I'd like to see an option where I can add my own message instead of using the already made ones. It's a great idea..I just thought it could have been a bit less 'customized'. P.S. The 'Her User' /'Her Host'..what is it? Harassment kicks?
