check on room connect

maybe a stupid question, but how do i get a script to do things when it connects to a room.

am i supposed to use a on join combined with a nick = me,

or is there another way.

its only supposed to check when it enters the room.

after that the changes are done true remote commands or in dialog

Use this for when you connect to server

on *:CONNECT:{ stuff ere }

and this for joining room

on me:*:join:#: { stuff ere }

when your script joins a room you can use:

on me:*:join:#:{ command }

when you're connecting you dont need to have any checks.

excuse me but on connect on ircx you need it for login in for oper

so you can auto sign in etc

so you would need a check for that

he actually asked for the one for a room but i gave him the other too

 

and you have just repeated the on join command that i posted lol

as for the connect, i meant you don't need if ($nick == $me) - should've explained that a lil better

the server i intended it for is down atm.

it actually isnt a regular irc server, but one of those chat-sites.

but it runs on a ircx so should be ok.
