that's good. though where in particular would you like to do? normally to do sys admin, you need to pretty much know all the ins and outs of the operating systems you're dealing with.

well look at it this way... how do they originally assess you? You send in your resume right? On that, you have your education. In IT, if you're not a network admin, or a behind the doors fix-it computer person, they're going to look at your education. This is especially true for programming roles, analyst roles, and management roles. I could program back when i was in year 9, doesn't mean i would get the job i have lined up for now. I got the job next year because i am graduating uni. I used my experience once i got through the initial stages. What got me through the initial stages? Completing my degree, and having good marks. Of course this was backed by decent experience, but the first thing they look at is your marks. Especially at your age, you cannot tell me that you actually have the experience a professional has. I don't even have the experience, or the knowledge with my degree that a professional would. But like tak said, to get a job, you need experience, to get experience you need a job. I got in without the highly required experience through a "graduate program". These are real good for people who just come out of university, and don't want to be competing against EVERYBODY around for the basic job.

even if you get work, i would still suggest finishing your degree.

if you go to a college or university, make sure it is internationally recognised. Most universities will promote this if it is, so if you can get into one of those universities, then you're fine. There should be a few in the middle east, but if you feel it is better to study somewhere else, you should attempt to go for something better. http://www.google.com/search?q=internation...ed+universities as you can see, the first link on there lists internationally recgonised universities/colleges around the world. These are the universities you should be aiming for. I will say though, that just because they are internationally recognised, they may not be as good as other universities. For example, what i'm studying, if i studied at a different university, i know that the amount of knowledge I would gain would not be as great. This is hard to tell based on looking at university websites, because they are all self promoting. The best way is to look at university rankings as well (which you can google), and perhaps even seeing if you can talk to past students of several universities that you wish to goto, in the field you want to work in.

well where i come from, undergraduates may be able to get a lot of jobs, heck, even I was capable of doing what a graduate could do. However, not graduating could set you back in terms of education, money, status, etc. For example, a company (in Australia) pays based on experience reached. If i do not finish my degree (which i will be in 2 days after my exams today and tomorrow *w00t*), i would be still able to get a job, but it would not be as well paid, and i would most likely struggle to climb the corporate ladder so to speak. In terms of pay, I would be paid as a high school graduate, not a university graduate, as I have not completed my course yet. Also, if you wish to excel more, by perhaps doing a Masters in IT, which is very likely given that undergraduate is very foundational and doesn't cover a lot, then it would noted by the universities as to what level of knowledge you have. Like pay, what you have completed. Because you haven't completed undergraduate, they would see you no more qualified than a high school student. Trust me, put in the extra 3 years (full time, max?), or i'm guessing that you're already quite some way through your degree, the remainder of your degree then, as it really does pay off in the end. What is it worth? The little money you make now which won't grow if you don't finish university? Or the money you'll be able to earn and grow after you complete at least your undergraduate?

basically there are loads of apps for any mobile OS, it's a matter of finding ones that you want. Apple has it's advantage in that they are all through the one place. Windows Mobile on the other hand, one good place is handmark, but they need more still. That is why with windows mobile 6.5 they have a marketplace now, but even that isn't that great yet. Nokia has it's OVI store, and yea, it just goes on and on.

though, i think at the time i was running norton internet security as well which probably covered my arse.

well i'm not too sure about that, must of been at a specific hour, cause i was using IE back then, and i visited rumbaar's site constantly, even when it did get hijacked, and i never experienced any issues. Just because you got another browser to goto the website and nothing happened, doesn't mean it was the browser. Then again, a question would be, do you keep your computer up to date with patches, not only windows patches, but all programs you use? anyways, can't test it again can we? Who cares, as long as you're using something you like, that's the point. I personally have not had any problems with any of the software i've used. Hardware on the other hand... lacie can go die!

anyways, back on topic, i need to upgrade from the beta... been having lag issues lately. As a uni student we've had the RTM available to us through a licencing agreement between my university and microsoft since it came out. I've just been in the middle of all this uni work so i don't want to run the risk of having a stuffed up computer for a few days.

if you said that a java icon poped up, could it have possibly been a java exploit instead of IE? Not to say what is what though, but if you look at the number of exploits reported/fixed, firefox has twice as many as any other browser, including IE. The reason opera is more safe is because it's one of the least used browsers out there. Due to the large number of people using FF, more and more exploits, bugs, and viruses will make it's way through it. It's just a matter of time. Not to say any browser is better than another, but you can't make a claim like IE is unsafe, because you just saidthat a java icon appeared, so it gives ground to say that it was a java issue, not an IE issue. Not to say the issue wasn't IE, but saying that there is grounds against the arguement that it was strictly/solely IE.

btw, if you're using dcx, isn't the table headers provided with an option to sort it?

all i can really say is check your mIRC settings itself. There is normally something in there which allows you to set when the icon actually appears.

i believe it should still work. If not, try a different editor like Notepad++. It may show up a tad funny, but it should make it more recognisable visually.

easiest way to learn it from my experience is to use an online regex tool. This is a good web app that is a regex tester, and to the right it has quite a few different options and examples. http://gskinner.com/RegExr/

yea i am the same warrior. I pretty much did that with all my languages as well.

warrior, maybe we should point out what modifications took place to have the code work? It may be beneficial for others to know what you did. I could probably work it out, but yea, not sure everyone here could.

warrior, it was an opinion. I did not intend or come off as being a "flamer" on his work. I gave a valid reason as to why i thought that. I would hope that it was constructive critism, cause if i was to have really flamed it, i could of used a lot more words than that to do so. But I gave my opinion for it. Being that it's critism, you can take it or leave it at your discretion, that is the fun about being human. Btw, isn't there an auto list scroll bar that generally gets created when a list is too long? I don't recall having to make a scroll bar in GD5 for the nicklist, it was there.

that is a bit of a silly place to put it in my opinion because of the fact that all conventions put it on the right side. you should try and stick to it, cause even for an experienced user like me, it doesn't make sense at all.

i don't see a scrollbar in the screenshot though.

if you look at the first screenshot though, the bottom person is half cut off, so it needs an auto resizer otherwise you won't be able to do some of the things in a full room.

i believe his parents are muslim, but yea, i don't look into the facts a lot.
