  1. More information would be required to be able to answer that. Chat network it's happening, what client are you using and version. Using ssl or no, what addons you have installed.

  2. I have both Windows 7 and Windows 8 on my desktop computer. And I have to say when i do have to use windows I usually boot into Windows 8 now. I added the Pokki start menu which is configurable and still gives you access to the start window, but at the same time gives it more of a traditional windows feel too it.

  3. Not sure of the time frame, but we've heard from one of the top people at chatcore. The issue was their host took the server offline, when it came back the hdd had been erased. So they have to rebuild everything and that is going to take a little bit of time. If we hear anything else we will pass it along, but since it looks the like server is back online now, I don't think it will be that much longer before you see the site back up and running.

  4. unfortinitly ping timeouts are a fact of life for irc. Not much you can do about them. Pending on the server settings your connecting to you can create a ping timer to ping the server every xx seconds...The odd time i've had to use that i've set my to 80 seconds which is just shy of the default for most unrealircd setups. This sometimes helps with ping outs but not always.

  5. Glad it worked for you. Just for your fyi in the future. Most IRCd's have built in help systems. In the case of unrealircd all you have to do is type in /helpop and look at your status window in mirc. It will show you what it has available for help content. For example you could do /helpop usercmds or /helpop join. Also all services have a help system by typing in /msg nickserv help or /msg chanserv help ( alot of servers you can just shorten the commands to /ns help or /cs help).

  6. You neglected a step in their chain. On ircd to create a channel (room) all you have to do is /join #channel_name. then if you want to register the channel so you can have founder access and use the features of chanserv then do what chain said /cs register #channel_name password description. If you don't join the channel first and have @ or +o you wont be able to register the channel with chanserv. Also to register with chanserv you must first register your nick with nickserv. /ns register password email

  7. Just to give a little update to chains post. In no small part from err0r, we now have profiles working from the webchat. This will only work if the nick in chat is registered on the site. It's not perfect yet I still have to code it so that if the nick isn't registered on the site it will bring you to a page that tells you so. As it stands now it just brings you to the default ipb error page lol. I'm quite happy with the outcome so far, and thanks to err0r for all your help and advice with ipb it's more then greatly appreciated.

  8. Just to give a little update on IRChainScriptz network.

    We have recently done some changes to the servers to make it a little more user friendly. The server names now match their locations:

    chi.il.us.irchainscriptz.net = Chicago Illinois United States

    los.ca.us.irchainscriptz.net = Los Angeles California United Stats

    mon.gb.ca.irchainscriptz.net = Montreal Quebec Canada

    Also irc.irchainscriptz.net is now a round robin url. So you can use that and it will connect to anyone of the servers on the network. So if one server is down that will connect to the next server in the list.

    Also all the ircd servers and the services have been upgraded to the latest builds. Please make sure to use the built in help systems as there are new and or changed commands. Most notably is the chanserv register command. There is no longer a founder password for channels so when your register a channel the command is now /cs register #channel_name description

    The old command was /cs register #channel_name password description. So if your scripts are setup to this your normal channel passwords will show up in the channel description. You may notice me +qo in your channel this is because i need +q to reset your description to not include this password. If i do find it and remove it I will pm the channel founder to let them know.

    Also with the new services, they have full support for mysql now so this means we can now start to work on a site that will interact with services...IE Register on the site and it will automatically create a Nickserv account. We will keep everyone as upto date as possible on it's development.

    Last but not least for now. IRChainScriptz is honoured to announce that we now have a full fledged internet radio station on the network. FNRadio has joined the network and now has there bot running that you can request songs and such through. You can visit FNRadio's site at FNRadio

    Thanks All and we will keep everyone updated.
