You know i'm a little annoyed at that msg considering even after doing all te work to his site and ircd back then, only to find out one day i was unable to log into admin due to him locking me out for no reason. YET i still treated him with respect. In fact (not that im really that interested in dragging others into this waste of time) but Eyecu was one who was present when i suggested phoenix went to a phpfox cms lolz

and i apparently duped his site... would this be the correct time to say (I was the one who installed and set up phpfox for him) as well as inspircd and anope All working fine till he decided to revert back to a linux box, he then ran phpfox on the linux..... I do not Duplicate sites i simply just kept using the cms i was working with from the start( a fresh copy i might add) i can find multiple people who where present when i first suggested for him to use phpfox. As his site was a complete mess and needed to be over halled. Good luck to PK and his site i just hope he finds some one who can code better then himself. LOL @ err0r not being able to code

ahh nice. Id appreciate being kept up to date on this if possible, Will it be used to connect to ircd or will it run its own build of irc server?

Personally iv had no problems with users on this site and ive used this site for years. That said, in an attempt to get this back on topic if any one can help me with the chat pages i am all ears.!

no worries. if you used hidden values in say the topic or what ever you could always have it read into cat lists for the rooms as well. Just an idea

Wish i could find some one to build my chat pages like my old site (minus all the msn type stuff and ocx) This would work great for my needs in phpfox. P.s i still have that system too! I can dream lolz

any one got anything better then lightirc ?? ORRR can point me in the right direction??? i really need to get somthing better inplace for the chat.

Don't know if i put this in the right spot but here goes...... I'm currently running inspircd with anope and a lightirc web connection, i am now wondering if some one cane help me with a php irc script to serve up the chat pages as i would like to implement a few things such as a category list and a web based room management form to name a couple of things. I would like to replace lightirc with a proper web foundation. If any one knows of a script that will help or if you are willing to help me with such id appreciate any info on this. I'm aware i could build it from scratch using something like netsmart_irc but i have not done much with it as of recent so its kinda Chinese to me at the moment. I'v posted a picture of a chat page i have in place at the moment (no reason just wanted to post)

Cheers error.. the spam bots are not really much of an issue any more. i have blocked most however i have left a couple there to fill the site a little. the cms sucks for that clearly and i had planed on a change but iv done a fair bit of tweaks to get it to where it is. So i was going to see how it went. thanks for the link i will do that now there's like 3 spam accounts i have left in place for the time being.

Been a while since i have posted here so i wanted to leave a msg! I am currently working on a network site with a lightirc webchat (not the best config in the world) but its coming along rather well. It is currently in beta at this stage but your welcome to come and check it out. As always feel free to leave a comment or suggestion! Lightirc is integrated into the back end for seamless transition between site and chat. Both display name and chat name are one in the same so you can control it via your site profile. I have not done a lot of work to the chat side of things just yet but are planing to customize the user list some what with custom user icons and mode prefix icons. I am running a full ircd with anope services to extend the functionality of it. I am planing to implement some kind of channel/room category listing with the use of key strings applied to Possibly the topic, and the use of a php script to display set strings into allocated lists (not 100% sure how to do that yet) but i'll get there. Chat features a working webcam with voice. I appreciate any feedback or suggestions any one might have and i welcome help and support!!!! Cside Network.com Edit.. i don't know if if its still around but maybe you can pop on over to Buzzen as i be leave theirs a Viper bot room there .. the VB coder is extremely busy but you maybe able to get some helpfull hints/pointers on getting what you need .... please correct me if i'm wrong for the room location i havnt jumped onto buzzen in a bit

sadly i try to think about that all the time, i am trying to put together a site based mostly on features i know members like.. at the moment though the biggest thing that holds up development/progress is the webchat side of things. though i have probably made a huge step in the right direction moving from officeirc (is an ok server if your after straight up and down irc with less accessibility, unless of cores you are gifted in the art of writing webscripts to add work arounds) to an ircd that does offer alot in the way of modules and scaleability , however im still stumped on the hole webchat side of things so that in itself is a speed bump lol ... i have got lightirc running for that job but im not 100% sure im happy with it at the moment. anyway one step at a time and i'll get there, as i'm actually doing this alone at the moment progress is slow due to having to learn some along the way , not a bad thing though lol p.s on the insp server just an update .... i was awake until 3:30am last night and i have managed to get MOST modules enabled "not a hard task just slow going for my first time" .. i did run in to a few miner problems along the way like i was hoping to have the custom mode prefix but both the module and custom failed with "prefix already in use" anyhow not a big issue at this stage and my advice to any one who wants to run inspirIRCd is to make data/start logfile your friend lol Eyecu to get around the renaming the files and paths i had to change the paths anyway as they where set in the .conf like conf/example/nameofconf.conf.example so all i did was download the entire conf folder and edited/replaced what i needed , that also helped now i dont have a conf directory full of unwanted or unused files makes what i need to find so much easier... i did notice one small bug/typo in the .conf set up file and that was to do with the quotes file it was set in as <randquote file="quotes.conf"> when that file does not exist however there was a quotes.txt so i changed it to .conf and moved it to the conf directory for simplicity later on <randquote file="conf/quotes.conf">... "not even sure why i wanted it tbh" lol but will edit it in due time... do you have any suggestions on webchat side of things? is there something already designed to run with insp.. i did notice the http settings but i assume thats more for backend admin stuff , i do still want to integrate it into the cms as well.

after editing the inspirircd.conf file 300 times. editing the operblock with 1 basic oper/class and loading just mostly the security mods i was finally able to start the thing and make a connecting "this is great news!!! means i'm on the right track" seeing the "Welcome to" for the first time has got me all excited lol......

well after messing with the config and other files , motd, rules, so on i got as far as the modules block... 1 word "WOW" lol i have been going at this for hrs and i have made a start on the module.conf, im not 100% sure what i'm ment to be loading as such. so far iv only really loaded the security modules as other modules depend on it, but damn!!! iv not even been able to start the thing yet lol at the moment i have kept most things pretty basic like the opers.conf i have only 1 in there at the moment..... It is extremely painful being that this is the first time i have used it so its all Chinese to me at the moment haha...... i may need to pop in for some guidance .. this is madness!!!!.. i'll see if i can get it running with all basic stuff first Dippy to answer you InspirIRCd so far just by looking at the config files looks to be pretty awesome and my opinion is that it is way better just with what settings you can change, HOWEVER there is a lot more involved with setup of config files so be prepared to set aside a fair bit of time if your like me and are new to Inspirircd, iv been editing for a few hrs now and i'm not even half way done on the module.conf.. but thats mostly due to trying to read everything

cool, I now have it installed on the server, attempting to edit the config file now. though its much different... i assume i just change it from its inspircd.conf.example file to inspircd.conf when done? I'm looking for a read me now as this is slightly different im not even sure if it has to remain in the same directory or not lol

Its not that i was after a more msn like look but if its more configurable then i might give that ago thanks heaps (Y) i'm gonna do that now Does it install and run much like unrealircd from the exe or would i be best downloading source and working from there ?.. Correction i will try get it, virus scanner chucks a dummy spit when downloading it from InspIRCd site lol
