  1. I see three replies that pick on Travis in a serious manner. I fail to see Travis seriously pick on anyone in this thread (except me) and that was sarcastic yet good natured humorous comment, in my opinion. Dippy I think you jumped to a wrong conclusion, and wiley also.
  2. ozzy I agree with you more and more every month (scary) lol Well said.
  3. Sigh, on-line communication ...... I'd double check who is attacking who, and look for the humor and kindness. btw Scorpion, I've been ok - too busy though. Take care.
  4. lol (lots of love) Travis, you're a brat.
  5. I can't stand when people say 'it's just the internet so it doesn't matter.' It does matter, because our words affect real people who are using the internet to communicate. All the best Black Scorpion - we can't change the past, but we can change the future through each new today. Personally I prefer not repeating the same mistake, to hearing an apology for it, and seeing it repeated again and again. Take care.
  6. looks good ozz. Scary though, you appear almsot as inlove with dialogs as I used to be
  7. lol err0r, you guys are bad! Just don't bad mouth Travis though, and you're safe lol Travis, thanks for your vote of confidence
  8. I agree. I also know that schools and many of the modern teachers have made a tremendous effort to instill a spirit of questioning and critical thinking into children, in order to prevent at least some degree of mass brainwashing. Much of the school system now teaches and encourages children to question, critically think about, and even reject information given by authority figures. This caused alot of friction with old style teachers who simply wanted to transfer traditional knowledge, rather than teach thinking skills. I think the last of those old style of teachers have about retired now. While alot of our history has been based on teaching people what to think, rather than how to think. Our school systms are now making a conscious effort to teach children how to think - and that was a conscious change in teaching strategy that happened quite a number of years ago.
  9. I could rant a long time on this topic. I just finished watching a show on pollution, and it is mind boggling. Ultimately I think people have to say No. No Im not buying that junk. No Im not eating that junk. No Im not listening to that junk.
  10. If you are using a script and trying to join with a new passport you may have to join through webchat first. This is because sometimes information is missing on the passport, and buzzen requires you to fill in that additional data, before you join a room.
  11. I tend to agree with that statement. We continue to see a number of people who try to adapt msn scripts/addons, rather than write something new. It's sad though, because I found scripting at VSIXc such a pleasure, and it was very nice to be able to use alot of the basic mirc options. I still dont like clones.
  12. I agree err0r. Life is too short to be dragging each other down. We are a community, a group of people who have known each other for a long time. Many of us have shared similar experiences, and share the same memories of things that have happened online over the past years. We are meant to be supporting and helping each other. Despite the bickering Travis and x-fusion do sometimes, x was there 100% for Travis when accusations of ripping were going on. To me that cuts through everything else. Friends are there for us during the rough times. Sure they might push us and bicker with us, because they don't agree with everything we do. But in the end, when the world is against us, friends are on our side and their criticisms are meant to build us up, not tear us down.
  13. err0r, they're talking about something that happened over a year ago.
  14. I do miss msn--even the scripting for server updates (although buzzen is almost as bad) lol. For me it's sad to see everyone split up and all over the place though. I would have liked to see the msn crowd stick closer together. I like sharing memories with people who have had similar experiences, and it is still neat to run into people I knew from back then--in a way we feel like a big chat family. drama wars and all.
  15. nice job on fixing those nicks! It looks great.
  16. It looks nice err0r Did you add a stripped hammer for Superowner?
  17. I agree the discussion is over, and said that same thing on chains earlier this morning. I'll continue to expect the best in everyone, but you're right Travis, people often refuse to show their best. That is a sad fact of life. True, we don't always get what we deserve--it doesn't mean we don't deserve it.
  18. I think Travis deserves some apologies, as the accusations have clearly been proven false. Dabba for starting all of this, Chain for posting inflammatory and false accusations on your site, and the countless bandwagon riders, who were only in it to drag Travis down and ruin his reputation. There is absolutely no foundation for the accusations of ripping. Travis didn't rip anything. Any further discussion will only continue to reveal the true motive behind the accusations: insecurity and hatred. The accusations that were spread around of Travis ripping code and/or ideas were a very pathetic attempt at a smear campaign. I hope that people will refrain from starting false accusations like this about anyone else in the future. Ultimately you're the ones who end up looking bad.
  19. Hi err0r. The issue I see is that people like synedyne, make generalized accusations that SoulFly's code is similar to Moschino's code.. Then they fail to provide any specific examples of that similarity, so one is not sure if they are speaking of the code that has already been posted, (hop, ctcp etc, and shown to have been in Vincula long before either Moschino or SoulFly existed), or if he is saying that the coding style in SoulFly in general, is similar to Moschino's coding style. Synedyne then goes and backs up his generalized comments of SoulFly having similar coding to Moschino, by stating he knows about coding. Granted, I admit, I am not an expert coder. I know enough to do this or that, but I am very far from knowing all there is to know. I simply don't see any similarity in the code, or any similarity in coding styles. As far as I can see Moschino and SoulFly use a very different style, and as x-fusion has already stated, SoulFly does a ton more error checking that Moschino does. Im hoping ozz will take a look at both and comment.
  20. Hi ilia, when no one came forward to re-post the allegations on buzzen so that Travis could respond, I was going to post them there. We talked about it, and it was generally thought, and agreed on that more people with scripting knowledge would respond on tg, than on buzzen, and thus the allegations would be able to be better debated here at tg. That is why the opportunity for Travis to respond was posted here, and not buzzen. We knew the discussion would be fairly moderated on both sites. Dabba refused to re-post them in buzzen, where Travis could see them and comment on them, and Dabba refused to unban Travis to give him an opportunity to respond. I also posted the same request on chains..and again no one was willing to re-post the discussion to buzzen, so that Travis could respond to the allegations against himself.
  21. or admit you were wrong in saying them. Exactly Travis, silence is ambigious--not only could it stand as an addmission of guilt, but the person could be innocent, and simply unable to speak out, for whatever reason--like Travis was unable to respond to the accusations on chains and moschino becasue he was banned. Silence colors any potential addmission of guilt is such a way, so as to lead people to wonder about it--and rightly so. While there is silence on one side, people will forever be able to say 'well we don''t know the whole story, maybe those accusers had reason to accuse, reasons we just don't know about.' Sadly, I think those who are refusing to speak out here are probably playing on this, and using silence to their beneift, hoping people will assume the best of them, while they continue on doing the same things. I hope Im wrong--but it sure looks that way from here. To admit a mistake is hopefully to turn in a new direction. For those who started all of this, and those who jumped on the bandwagon supporting it, to publically admit the accusations were false would end this the right way. To take a prideful road and try to justify wrong actions would only be silly. To take the road of silence and wait for everyone to make good assumptions about you, and forget your bad behaviour so you can go on doing the same things in the future would be sad beyond words. --in my opinion. To me, it's better to talk through an issue fully, and see it to resolution, than it is to resort to silence and blocking, thus preventing any possibility of a resolution. One way brings the possibility of fresh starts, the other only a continuation of all that is wrong.
