  1. Perhaps techgear should be re-named Gwens political plotting house. lol You can say and do what you want it doesnt matter to me. At the end of the day you will be out of breath and we will still be supporting our chatters.
  2. There has been ALOT of "Reaching" going on regarding this topic. I see a few of you "Reaching" for a slanderous responce every time BUZZ EN is mentioned. As for me not defending BUZZ EN that is simply because I dont have to. The service speaks for itself. As for ircx not being after the money and we are, thats FUNNY! That statement also speaks to your "Reaching" I could go on and on but its pointless. There is a small group of you that will attack BUZZ EN no matter what the subject is. I see it all the time with people asking honest questions. There answer comes after 4 pages of bullshit from these people. TechGear isnt a place people can go for help when it comes to BUZZ EN. but hey, works out for the other places that ARE actually helping. All I can say is good luck with your smear campaign.
  3. LOL No matter what way you look at it, I find it amusing that you cant get "THE CHAT THAT WE DARE NOT SPEAK IT'S NAME" out of your systems. Speaks volumes! Good Job Guys
  4. approx %95 of all websites are hosted at home or in a mass hosting enviroment. Standard hosts only have 100Mbps uplinks. No host is gonna optimize there network for overhead when they can optimize it for profits.
  5. Buzzen doesn't mind though of course. Argue points, fight about it, curse it, Love it, whine about it. Either way... There are 6225 people connected in 779 rooms right now that seem to have there mind made up. And I am one of them
  6. Perhaps I wasnt clear enough for you, so I will try and remedy that. You provided false claims as fact. You claimed Buzzen was run on a home connection off of one computer ( you even went as far as to offer this fiction as a type of public service expose) You accused Buzzen of not securing personal data. You even went as far as to say we used peoples personal info for our own amusement. Those are quite simply Lies. You show me instances of this and I will gladly respond to them right after I make sure it doesnt happen again. As for our network, it speaks for itself. Only a poorly informed person with no technical background could even make an assumption like that. So if you want me to take you seriously provide me with some proof of these alegations, where I come from the burdon of proof is on the accusor not the accused.
  7. Travis, I wont even respond to you because there is no point. You have manipulated things and used "fishy" information that you can't substantiate to attack us. If you provide facts I will respond to them, until then I will simply disregard you. X-Fusion, We are attacked by DDoS multiple times a week. In almost all cases there is no affect on our network from it. I assume MSN had a much more advanced network with unlimited resources at there disposal. We do not have such luxeries! Buzzen owns approx 30 IP's but at this time we only use about 14. I cant really get into what IP is connected to what because of security reasons.
  8. Of course I offered the information willingly. It is no secret to anyone that we dont own the MSN.ocx nor have we ever implied we did. As for damage control, I have never seen the need to concern myself with that. You have your opinions and I have mine. People can believe what they like. And you were not banned for giving the information, you were banned for imflaming the situation. You were given the answers you asked for and continued to attack us. The Buzzen forums are for helping users, not debating your ideals.
  9. We did answer the question precisely and to the point in this forum and on our own. Admin_Jay: Well just to set the record straight I will clear some things up. 1) Buzzen has no affiliation with MSN or Microsoft. 2) Buzzen does not OWN the MSN.OCX. 3) Buzzen has no rights to the MSN.OCX. As for our future plans, that is completely within our right to develop our new software at our own pace and with as much exposure as we see fit. All I can say is that we will be providing a global communications alternative to MSN, Yahoo, MySpace, and many other sites. Everything under one roof so to speak for all architectures. We will never agree on this point because we both see it very differently. I have accepted to agree to disagree and move on.
  10. We have made it very clear we have nothing to do with MSN or any legal rights to the MSN.ocx. There is ALOT if misinformation about Buzzen. We have decided to focus on our new sites development. That will clear your issues up as well as many others when it is fully released.
  11. Let’s not exaggerate! Here are the facts. Buzzen Website was down for 8 Hrs due to an overlooked trunk configuration that was exploited with a 140Mbps DDoS Flood. The problem was created when we moved the Buzzen website to a new server and overlooked the "default" 100Mbps trunk configuration. The DDoS exploited this error and was properly filtered within an hour. Unfortunately the switch had to be upgraded as well to handle the GB trunk. So in short it was our own mistake that allowed for that particular flood to happen. The same attacker attempted to take us down about 20 minutes after we were online. He was not successful. FYI a 140Mbps DDoS flood will take down about %95 of all the websites in the world. Now does this mean it's not possible to take Buzzen down with DDoS floods? Absolutely not! We are prone to attacks like any other website, although we do have a topology designed to minimize the effects of a DDoS we are in no way immune to them. We also report all DOS floods to *shadowserver.org* As for us being on the same backbones as MSN I really can't confirm or deny that. I have no information on MSN's network. I can state however that if it is true that is purely a coincedence. You are correct in stating that net predators are a problem. But I think you will find your assumption that these predators will be the downfall of Buzzen are unwarranted. We work dilligently with law enforcement agencies and have a detailed plan to deal specifically with these individuals. ** Shadowserver.org is a DDoS Masters worst nightmare. This organization tracks down botnets and destroys them from the inside out. Leaving the Bot master with no bots to flood with. Once that has been completed all the information obtained on the attacker is sent to ISP of the attacker as well as Local law enforcement agencies.
  12. The idea of Buzzen was started by a few MSN room owners that wanted to give friends somewhere to chat. Obviously alot has changed since then, some good and some bad. Regardless, Buzzen has always been determined to provide the best services possible with our limited resources. We do not agree with alot of what has been said about us, particularly the personal attacks. But we realize if you wanna be a public entity you need to be accountable to the public. It was great to hear the public voice on many of the issues that have been brough up. All your opinions over the past couple of months have helped us see the many points of view about Buzzen. As usual we will take all that feedback and keep it mindful as we develop BuzzenV2(Beta) for it's release at the end of the year. Now a few words on a personal note: We have never tried to shove Buzzen down anyones throats, but we are proud of what we have accomplished. Granted some could say we only have this success because of a small interface created by MSN. I of course will never believe that, I will always believe it was the hard work of the staff and the undying support of the users that have made us what we are today. No amount of discussion will ever sway me from that belief! Deanna, Wow! what a true crusader you are. Relentless in your attacks and firm in your beliefs. I wish there was more people like you out there! ---------------------------------------------------------- Now to clear up once and for all 1 of the silliest things I have heard in a long time. 1)Is Buzzen run from 1 computer on a home connection? Answer: Absolutely not! Buzzen is run on 14 Enterprise Class Servers on Tier1 backbones. Canadian Backbones(Cogento, MCI, BigPipe) European Backbone(Unknown) 2)Does Buzzen rent its servers? Answer: Buzzen does not Rent any servers. We own all of our own hardware. _______________________________________________ Any questions feel free to ask.
  13. You wont be able to access the chat from that domain Shaggy. http://flashirc.info will allow you to access the rooms.
  14. Well as least Buzzen does something.
  15. I suppose I just dont see it the same as you. But nonetheless I can respect your opinion.
  16. We're all getting old, dont feel left out.
  17. Well just to set the record straight I will clear some things up. 1) Buzzen has no affiliation with MSN or Microsoft. 2) Buzzen does not OWN the MSN.OCX. 3) Buzzen has no rights to the MSN.OCX. 4) Buzzen does in no way "use" the MSN.OCX. 5) The MSN Broadcast message was real but seeing as though I don't work for MSN I can't tell you if it was official or not. 6) Any Buzzen staff that said we have exclusive rights to use or that we own the MSN.OCX is grossly misinforming you. With those points made let me elaborate: Buzzen merely allows the (now retired) MSN.OCX to connect to its servers. The MSN.OCX is nothing more then an extremely limited graphical ircx client, similiar to many other clients that could also connect to buzzen if a user so endeavored. Some of these clients include but are not limited to Pjirc, Comic Chat, mIRC, Pirch and a plethora of others. Any client that can process irc/ircx commands could be made to work on Buzzen. It is true that many find the MSN.OCX a popular way to connect to our network, but that in NO WAY implies we own or have special rights to it. Alot of users connect via the mIRC client, does that mean we own rights to that as well? It is not our responsibilty to enforce what your preference of chat client is, whether it be the MSN.OCX or mIRC or Pirch. We are happy to serve our users and provide them a place to enjoy the chat client they prefer. I hope that helps to clear some things up for you. Admin_Jay Buzzen Administration
  18. Sounds to me like Coal needs a hug .... awwwwwwww poor coal Semya, I am sorry that nobody has helped you with your problem. As far as I know Buzzen will support Japanese characters. I know it supports Arabic so I assume Japanese will be no problem. if you need any help testing or setting things up please feel free to email me for help. [email protected]
