Sane IRC proxy v1.0

This little script is useful, when you have friends, to whom you wish to serve as a connection bouncer. This means, that they first connect to your server, in order to connect to the real irc server, but with your IP address. It helps much when their internet service providers are banned on the networks they wish to hang on.

Installation:

Copy the file called 'sanebnc.mrc' to your mirc directory, start mirc and type this command in any window: /load -rs sanebnc.mrc
You will be asked about initalization commands, answer "yes".
Then, access the server by typing /bnc in any window, additional commands will appear in new window.

Uninstalling:

Close the @bouncer window, and type /unload -rs sanebnc.mrc
You're done.

Important note:

If you're in the local network, or behind a router, users from outside of your network will not be able to connect to this server. You'll need to open the specified port on your gate computer, or ask network admin to do so.

Some facts:

-
- this irc proxy doesn't have 'users' and their passwords. The password is one for all that are trying to connect.
- there isn't also anything like 'blacklist' or allowed IP addresses. Maybe in the future

Have fun!
