INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
**************************
You should've extracted these three files into the same mIRC directory (or any directory you keep your script files.) Please note that all 3 files have to stay together in the same dir.
1. Q-Acheckbook.mrc
2. qaicon.jpg
3. this readme file

For organizational purposes, you may want to put the three files into their own directory, such as Q-Acheckbook so that they all stay together.

To install Q-Acheckbook V0.1, type the following command into your mIRC:

/load -rs Q-Acheckbook.mrc

This will initialize the script. The first time you load it, you will be asked to enter your checkbook starting balance. Enter it in the format 0.00 with no dollar signs. ($)

TO USE Q-ACHECKBOOK V0.1
****************************

After setting your starting balance when you initialize the script, you can right click in any channel, nicklist, or status window and choose "Q-Acheckbook v0.1" from the popup menu to open the dialog.

THE MAIN DIALOG

Welcome to your checkbook! You will find several buttons of use here to manage your personal finances and stay on top of your bank account. First of all, your checkbook is in front of you. It will keep track of check numbers, (if applicable) the date that accompanies the entry, a description of the entry itself, the amount of the entry whether it is to be credited or debited from your account, and your current balance up to that entry... in other words, the details of each transaction you make with your bank account that you normally have to write down to keep track of.

THE BUTTONS

The Add button lets you add new entries, it's pretty self explanatory. A new dialog will pop up, prompting you to add the already-mentioned details. You will also need to choose whether or not the amount should be debited or credited by selecting the appropriate radio button. If there is no check number, you can leave it blank or put whatever you wish in that place. If you leave it blank, it will supply a 'n/a' automatically. Click "OK" when you are finished, and you will see the details of your latest entry in the main dialog window and that your new current balance has been updated. The Current Balance is always up in the upper right corner so that no matter how many entries you have, you won't have to scroll to the bottom to find out what it is at any time.

The Delete button is self-explanatory. You must first have an entry selected, but then it will delete it from your checkbook and update your current balance accordingly.

The Edit button is similar to the add button in that it brings up the details of a particular entry you have selected. You can then edit it as needed, whether it be the amount or the description, date, etc. Click "Save Changes" to do so, or "Cancel" to not edit.

The "Start Balance" button allows you to set a new starting balance if you need to. Say when you set your original start balance you were off by a dollar or two... this lets you change your initial start balanace that all transactions are based on, at anytime.

ALIASES/POPUP OPTIONS

To open the dialog, simply right click in any channel, nicklist, or status window and choose "Q-Acheckbook v0.1" from the popup menu.

You can also use /q-acheckbook to open it as well.

FUTURE UPDATES WISH LIST
***************************

:: Having a uniform way to indicate dates so that things would be sorted in order based on dates automatically.

:: More dummy-proofing? I've attempted to make it difficult to "screw up" or cause errors in the script by doing something not allowed/expected/normal. Let me know if you can think of some other ways I can do so if you find something.

If you have any comments, suggestions, concerns, etc. for me or about this script, you can contact me on DALnet in #scriptinghelp.
